Residential Clinical and Operations Directors and Project Manager appointed for endED Butterfly House

Butterfly Foundation today announced significant staff appointments for endED Butterfly House – Australia’s first of its kind community centre for the treatment of eating disorders, based on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Dr Zach de Beer has been appointed as the Residential Clinical Director. He is a registered Clinical Psychologist and a registered clinical supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia. He holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and his doctoral research on eating disorders was presented at international conferences and published in an eating disorder handbook. He also holds Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) (Psychology) and Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy and Psychology) degrees.
Zach has managed mental health programs and mental health clinicians on the Sunshine Coast, including working closely with the funding stakeholders (Primary Health Network). He has worked as a treating clinician, clinical supervisor, academic, clinical lead and service manager in the eating disorder sector. Zach has been directly involved in service development; being instrumental in developing an intensive day hospital treatment program in England. His role involved contract management, relationship management as well as operational and clinical leadership of a county-wide eating disorder service, which included the innovative day hospital and community services in three locations.
The Residential Clinical Director is responsible for the clinical leadership and delivery of the Residential Care Program. They will lead the endED Butterfly House team in delivering high quality care.
Jodie Ashworth has been appointed as Residential Operations Director. She has 31 years of experience in the Australian public health sector as a registered nurse, midwife, quality director, and executive leader of large public health services. During her career she has worked across three states and territories of Australia (including Queensland) in remote, regional and metropolitan health services. She is a leader with a proven track record in service development, quality improvement and risk management.
Jodie’s most recent role was as the Acting Executive Director of Operations for the Metro North Hospital and Health Services, including operational responsibility for such hospitals as Royal Brisbane Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital, Redcliffe Hospital and Caboolture Hospital. Jodie holds a Diploma in Applied Science Nursing and Post Graduate Diploma’s in Health Service Management, Midwifery, Critical Care and Human Resources. She is also a current Accredited Surveyor for National Standards, Equip National & Community Services.
The Residential Operations Director will work closely with the Residential Clinical Director and be responsible for the day to day running of endED Butterfly House and ensuring robust clinical and information governance, clinical audit, and quality and risk management processes are in place.
Jullie Johnson has been appointed as Residential Project Manager. She is an experienced project leader in infrastructure projects, policy and procedures development and service delivery planning and implementation. Jullie’s prior roles include Project Manager for the National Regulatory Framework for Community Housing and the Human Services Quality Framework at Brisbane Youth Service; and Executive Director, Office of the Chief Executive, NT Department of Children and Families. Jullie has a Bachelor of Management and Graduate Diploma in Communications & Public Relations.
The Residential Project Manager will lead project planning to bring the Sunshine Coast Residential eating disorders facility to successful opening.
endED Butterfly House is currently under construction, and expected to open towards the end of this year. It will provide psychological and physical care in a safe, nurturing and healing environment for those most in need, delivering intensive, person-centred treatment for eating disorders.
