Poor body image is one of the leading reasons young people, particularly girls, stop playing sport.
Community sports can help change that! When clubs and their coaches foster safe, inclusive, BodyKind environments, young people are more likely to keep playing sport — and thrive.
BodyKind August is Butterfly’s free annual awareness initiative and offers free activities, posters, and resources to sporting clubs to promote BodyKind messages and actions to their community.
BodyKind August helps clubs foster a culture of respect, inclusiveness and appreciation for all bodies. New tools are added every August and are practical, accessible, and can be used all year — not just in August.
Butterfly is proud to be the Australian partner of Dove’s Body Confident Sport campaign, a global initiative of the Dove Self Esteem Project. We’ve been tasked to deliver free Body Confident Athlete ‘Coach the Coach’ workshops Australia-wide.
This highly interactive workshop will equip skills with the knowledge and skills to deliver a ‘Body Confident Workshop’ to their young people so that poor body image isn’t a barrier to their experience in sport.
