NEDC is a national sector collaboration dedicated to developing and implementing a nationally consistent, evidence-based system of care for the prevention and treatment of eating disorders. NEDC is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and administered by The Butterfly Foundation (Butterfly).

The purpose of the role of the Project Implementation Officer is to support the delivery of NEDC’s activities. This includes a particular focus on the implementation of the National Eating Disorders Strategy 2023-2033 and NEDC’s internal Primary Health Network (PHN) strategy and engagement. Key activities include resource development, project coordination, professional development delivery, and stakeholder engagement activities. The Project Implementation Officer works closely with the NEDC team to deliver our projects on time and within scope. This position reports to a member of the NEDC Management Team.

 

Roles & Responsibilities Include:


  • Contribute to the implementation of the National Eating Disorders Strategy 2023-2033 through stakeholder engagement, professional development delivery, resource development, evaluation tasks, and project support functions
  • Work collaboratively with the NEDC project team to plan, deliver, and evaluate projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the eating disorder, mental health and health sectors to support collaboration and uptake of NEDC initiatives
  • Support NEDC’s PHN Coordinator in implementing NEDC’s PHN Strategy, including communications, professional development, resource development and dissemination
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans to monitor progress, measure outcomes and ensure timely delivery of project milestones
  • Improve uptake of NEDC and sector resources – including psychoeducation resources, clinical tools, training and NEDC workforce planning resources
  • Contribute to the development of new tools, resources, and approaches in response to identified sector needs
  • Represent NEDC to various agencies, professional networks, and government as required
  • Represent NEDC in stakeholder meetings, workshops, and other forums to share knowledge, promote collaboration, and strengthen national implementation efforts.
  • Manage documentation and contribute to reporting of project activities to meet NEDC’s internal and external reporting requirements
  • Undertake administrative and project support tasks as required to ensure effective project delivery and team operations

 

Essential Criteria


  • Experience in health, social sciences, education, community development or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of health and/or mental health and/or eating disorders National Eating Disorders Collaboration 4/5
  • Strong engagement and communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • A proven team player who can also work well autonomously
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating, facilitating and presenting stakeholder engagement activities, education events and conferences, and/or consultation
  • Experience in preparing high quality reports or resources for a range of audiences
  • Competent-to-advanced use of computer software (MS Office, videoconferencing, collaboration tools)
