Lived Experience Network – Butterfly Collective
Already a member?
Lived experience of eating disorders and body image concerns lies at the heart of Butterfly’s work as it connects us to our origins and the communities we serve.
By drawing upon lived experience wisdom and embedding it across all our work, we can ensure that our advocacy work, programs, projects, and services represent the diverse nature of our community and their needs.
What is the Butterfly Collective?
The Butterfly Collective is an online lived experience network involving people across Australia who either have a lived experience of an eating disorder or body image concerns or are a carer, family member, or friend of someone with a personal experience. . This community is designed to help Butterfly to amplify the voice of people with a lived experience by inviting its members to take part in activities which will help to shape our work.
Butterfly Foundation’s lived experience network can provide their insights into specific programs of work including, but not limited to,
- research and evaluation projects
- development of services and training
- major campaigns
- advocacy priorities
- the work of the broader sector
Members of the Butterfly Collective will be regularly updated on the progress of the work they have contributed their time and insights to, as well as being kept informed about the latest sector news and resources.
The Butterfly Collective represents our renewed commitment to listening, amplifying, and advocating for lived experience voices. Butterfly seeks to recognise the value of lived experience as a form of knowledge and draw on it as a force for positive change.
