For schools
Butterfly prevention programs for schools
Educators see the daily impact of low self-esteem, negative body image and disordered eating on a student’s wellbeing and potential. Butterfly is proud to work with schools to support and enhance existing wellbeing programs and to create environments that support body confidence in children and young people.
Our programs are flexible and mapped to the Australian Curriculum. As trusted experts in the field of body image and eating disorders, we support the whole school community with:
- Engaging presentations to students
- Empowering seminars for parents
- Prevention training for staff on eating disorders and early intervention
We’re also here to support school communities with more serious issues through our National Helpline and our other support services.
Around 50% of young Australians aged 12 – 18 said their body image had stopped them to some extent from going to school, focusing on schoolwork and raising their hand in class.
Education resources
We’ve developed a range of curriculum resources, fact sheets and digital clips to support body image education in schools.
