Butterfly prevention programs for professionals working with young people
Are you a community-based professional working with young people?
If so, you’ll appreciate that adolescence can be a particularly challenging time for young people, with periods of intense physical and emotional change. Young people’s vulnerability to a range of mental health issues increases during this time, leaving them exposed to body dissatisfaction, disordered eating and eating disorders.
Intervening early and helping young people have a healthy relationship with their bodies, eating and physical activity is crucial.
As trusted experts in the field of body image and eating disorders our goal is to enhance the capacity of all youth professionals to promote positive body image and healthy behaviours in the young people they work with and to respond quickly when more serious issues arise.
Body image continues to be one of the top 4 personal concerns of young Australians.
BodyKind Schools
BodyKind Schools is for everyone! It’s a free campaign during September and invites all Australians working in primary and secondary schools, as well as other youth and community organisations, to come together to help young people be body confident and kind to their body and to others; face to face, online, everywhere!
Resources for professionals working with young people
We’ve developed a range of resources, fact sheets and digital clips to support body image education and prevention of eating disorders in young people.
