Butterfly offers a range of treatment supports to aid recovery

Eating disorders and body image issues are complex health problems with research and treatments constantly evolving. However, we know that keys to recovery include access to competent and compassionate care, along with integrated supports that promote feelings of safety for help-seekers. Wherever you may be based in Australia, Butterfly’s services can help your professional objectives for better health outcomes and long term recovery.

Butterfly Helpline

Butterfly’s National Helpline is open 8am – midnight (AEST), seven days a week, and serves health workers, their clients, and other help-seekers. We provide information, guidance and referrals to professionals who we’ve screened for their understanding of eating disorders.

Butterfly facilitates face-to-face and online groups that create opportunities for people with eating disorders and body image issues to learn helpful skills, connect with others with shared experience, and find hope and inspiration for the recovery journey.

Understanding Eating Disorder Recovery: Online Program

This free online workshop provides skills for friends, families and other carers to help a loved one overcome an eating disorder. Open to anyone, anywhere in Australia.

Butterfly’s outpatient programs allow participants to explore their struggles in a safe and recovery focused environment. Our specialist counsellors work with body image concerns, psychological issues and emotional regulation with a goal of normalising eating behaviours.

12-week youth program (22 sessions)

A skills-based group therapy treatment program for young people, experiencing symptoms of disordered eating, Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED) with a BMI greater than 18, in consultation with community treating teams.

Closed group program for adults

Butterfly’s outpatient program for adults experiencing an eating disorder aims to empower each person’s healthy self and instil a strong and resilient belief in recovery. This critical program is on hold while we seek funding to relaunch. Sign up to our newsletter for updates.

endED Butterfly House will be Australia’s first community-based residential facility for those most in need of both psychological and physical care. Due to open in early 2021, endED Butterfly House will open its doors to patients from across Australia, but only via referral from a clinician.
